The Town of Chester (Owner) is requesting Bids from pre-qualified contractors (Bidder) for the construction Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis, as indicated in the Bid Form. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept any bid, to waive any informality on bids received, and to omit any item or items deemed advisable for the best interest of the Owner. The Project includes the following Work: Reclamation of Halls Village Road from Webster Lane to Haverhill Road (a/k/a NH Route 121); an approximate distance of 5,800 linear feet. The road section will consist of (2) 11-foot travel lanes and (2) 3-foot gravel shoulders. Work shall include, but not be limited to, installation of erosion control measures, reclaiming the existing bituminous concrete road surface, replacement and new driveway and roadway cross-culvert infrastructure (i.e., pipes and headwalls), reconstruction of driveway aprons, placement of binder course pavement, placement of shoulder leveling gravel material, placement of fertilizer and loam and seed, placement of pavement markings, and replacement of traffic signage. The replacement of the existing 48-inch culvert, twin 36-inch culverts, and wearing course placement will be completed at a future date. The Project has an expected duration of 60 calendar days. The Owner anticipates construction to commence on or about September 2, 2024, substantial completion by October 18, 2024, and final completion by November 1, 2024. The Engineer's opinion of probable construction cost is estimated to be between $900,000 to $1,055,000. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
