The school will be located within the North Pointe Development on US 29 North, just north of Proffit Road — a site proffered to the county as part of the mixed-use development's original 2006 rezoning. The school is expected to serve the northern feeder pattern with a student capacity in line with the county's current school construction standard. The 2025 Long Range Planning Advisory Committee (LRPAC) ranked this project as its top capital priority, with $68.4 million in funding requested for FY 2027. Construction Timeline This project is currently in the pre-design phase, with the following milestones on the horizon: Spring 2026 — Preliminary architect and engineering firm selection process begins July 2026 (FY 2027) — Design funding becomes available; formal design work commences 2027 — Construction expected to begin, pending site finalization 2029–2030 School Year — Target opening date It's worth noting that as of late summer 2025, School Board Chair Kate Acuff described the project as still in a "contemplative" phase, signaling that while the direction is firm, formal procurement has not yet been initiated. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
