Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Millbrae, California. Design plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of March 19, 2026, a design firm has been selected for the project. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Mills Estate Park, located in the Mills Estate neighborhood, is currently the most undeveloped park in the city. Offering a remarkable view of the Bay Area, the park has long been visited by dog walkers and the community, despite its lack of facilities and maintenance. Originally planned during the development of the neighborhood in 1954, the park's renovation began conceptually in 2020 with extensive community input. The current design envisions a fully developed park, including: Picnic areas Lighted paths Paved parking A basketball or tennis court Landscaping improvements Preservation of a natural spring on the northeastern edge. There is no pre-proposal meeting required for this project. Project Start Date June 5, 2025 The City of Millbrae reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, to waive minor irregularities, and to request additional information from proposers. Based on the 2022 Millbrae Parks and Facilities Inventory, Analysis, and Recommendations Report (Attachment 1), propose a program for Mills Estate Park and a conceptual phased approach that will take place over 3-5 years, while maintaining partial park usability by the public between phases. The final budget for the Park will be $5,732,496.00 per Attachment 1 (unadjusted for inflation). Phasing to be determined based on funding availability and recommendations from consultants.
