Site work for a water / sewer project in Millbrae, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The City currently does not have a secondary discharge point for the Water Pollution Control Plant. The old nearshore outfall has not been used/damaged for many years. The only way to discharge is through the North Bay System Unit, a force main that carries Burlingame and Millbrae's discharge to South San Francisco. The permitting agency required Millbrae to re-establish a backup discharge point. This Project will: (1) Inspect the existing nearshore outfall which is an old discharge from the WPCP (2) Replace damaged components such as pipe and flap gate to provide a backup discharge point Schedule: Design/Permitting: Completed FY 23 Construction: FY 24 As of July 30, 2024, this project is included in the city's 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
