Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Villa Park, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; for paving for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

A. This work shall consist of the complete removal of all items called for in the plans and specifications or as otherwise implied in a safe and orderly manner creating as little disturbance as possible. B. All areas indicated for construction of any kind shall be cleared of any debris, undergrowth, weeds, stumps, roots, and marked trees which might interfere with the progress of that work. Unmarked trees or any plant material indicated to be saved by the Owner or Owner's Representative shall be given special protection as specified. Work generally includes asphalt paving, asphalt color coat, concrete paving, playground equipment, poured-in-place surfacing, playground underdrainage, chain-link fence, ornamental fence, pergola, picnic shelter, site furnishings, landscape, and lawn restoration. Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids. Successful contract bidders are also encouraged to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. This project is being financed, in part, with funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, "Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development" (OSLAD) grant program. Specifications require the submittal of a 10% Bid Surety with the proposal. In addition, the successful contractor(s) must be able to provide a satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond, and required proof of insurance following the award of a contract. All contracts for work herein are subject to all Village rules and regulations, and providing for the payment of DuPage County's prevailing wage rate to all workers involved in these projects. All bids will remain firm for 60 days a er the bid opening. The Village of Villa Park reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities on a bid, and to accept the lowest responsible bid that serves the best interests of the Village.
