Renovation of a conference / convention center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a conference / convention center.
Sevier County Government is now accepting bids for renovations for the Pigeon Forge Convenience Center. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, including all additive alternates. The successful bidder will be required to execute a performance bond and a labor/material payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Sum. All bidders must be licensed contractors as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act, enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee. Contract shall be awarded to Lowest Responsible Bidder complying with conditions of the Bidding Requirements provided proposal is reasonable and to the interest of the Owner to accept Proposal. Owner reserves the right to accept or to reject any or all bids, or parts thereof submitted, including alternates, and to waive any informalities in bidding and to award the Contract in the Owner's best interests. o It is the intent of the Owner that the work to be performed shall commence upon Notice to Proceed, and be complete within the specified date provided by the bidder on his Bid Proposal Form, or as modified by Contract. It may be understood that the stated completion date may be used as one criterion for determining which proposal is the most acceptable to the Owner. o By submitting a bid, the Contractor agrees to the assessment of liquidated damage in the amount of $500.00 per day for each day past the Contract completion date that he has not substantially completed the project, unless he has requested and been granted an extension of time in accordance with the AIA General Conditions. Substantial completion shall be as determined solely by the Owner and shall also be evidenced by the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy by the Local Authority. Contractor further agrees to the assessment of Liquidated Damages of $500.00 Dollars per day for each calendar day past the set completion date that he has not substantially completed the contract, subject to approved time extensions in accordance with Article 8.3 of the AIA General Conditions and as modified in the Supplementary Conditions. Sevier County reserves the right to accept or reject any/or all bids and to accept the bid deemed most favorable to the interest of Sevier County.
