A. The Work of the Project is defined by the Contract Documents and generally consists of the following 1. Demolition of mechanical aerators within three aeration basins; rehabilitation of concrete aeration basins; provide fine bubble diffusers and associated low pressure air piping; construction of a 1000 SF masonry Blower Building; installation of three turbo blowers complete with all piping and valving; replacement of stainless steel slide gates; installation of drainage systems for all four aeration trains; demolition of five existing RAS pumps; installation of three horizontal centrifugal RAS pumps, including associated valving, fittings and VFDs; replacement of existing sump pumps in the Return Sludge Pump Station (2 pumps) and the Primary Gallery (2 pumps); installation of a heated recirculation loop at the blended waste tanks; rehabilitation of the existing gravity belt thickener; demolition of two diesel fired gensets and providing a diesel engine driven standby generator with automatic transfer switches; replacement of primary electric feeders, transformers, switchgear; installation of buried and above grade conduit and wiring; instrumentation; miscellaneous improvements to the solids handling building; and site/civil improvements. B. Project Construction Contracts 1. Project will be constructed under coordinated, concurrent, multiple contracts. See Section 01 12 13, Summary of Contracts, for a description of work included under each of the multiple contracts, and for the coordination responsibilities between the contracts. 2.
