Accessibility improvements and upgrades to the Oakwood Public Library. This Branch will be closed during the renovation period and will re-open upon receiving building occupancy from the City and with furnishings completed and Health & Safety inspection passed. The scope of work includes; Upgrade to the building CPCE department to design and develop signage, Exterior and Interior upgrades, and mechanical and eletrical improvements. TIMELINE: The owner has issued a Request for Proposals to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of architectural design services at Oakwood Village and Arts Centre. The awarded proponent will provide the Toronto Public Library Board with complete design, construction documentation, permits and approvals, construction contract administration, close-out and warranty for the existing Oakwood Branch Building. The Successful Proponent shall carry a mechanical, electrical, and audio-visual engineer. The design must meet Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements, the latest 2024 Ontario Building Code (OBC), Fire Code, and wherever possible, comply with City standards such as the Toronto Accessibility Design Guidelines (TADG) and Toronto Green Standards, and bird friendly requirements.
