The City of San Diego's (City) Public Utilities Department (PUD) oversees and manages a large wastewater collection system, which comprises 12 sewer siphon locations featuring barrels ranging in diameter from 10 inches to 54 inches. The PUD aims to implement a sanitary sewer siphon cleaning program to enhance system efficiency and proactively mitigate sanitary sewer overflows. Notably, seven (7) large siphons pose cleaning challenges, potentially necessitating specialized cleaning and inspection equipment. The work involves conducting comprehensive sonar inspections on all 12 siphons to thoroughly evaluate the extent of debris accumulation and performing cleaning activities solely on the seven (7) siphons that are specified in Appendix A of the ITB. The contractor's responsibility includes ensuring the provision of sufficient water pressure/flow rates to clean the sewer pipeline without causing any damage to the pipeline or pipelining.
