Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Old Bridge, New Jersey. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.

The County of Middlesex, through a federally funded Local Capital Project Delivery (LCPD) Program administered by North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority (NJTPA), have, in close cooperation with New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Local Aid District 3, undertaken the replacement of Inter-County Bridge 3-B-40 to address structural deficiencies to provide a safe and efficient bridge crossing in conformance with current AASHTO, NJDOT, and Middlesex County design standards and policies. The Local Concept Development (LCD) phase of the LCPD Program for the replacement of Old Bridge Matawan Road Bridge has been recently completed and the project has been approved to advance to the Local Preliminary Engineering (LPE) phase. Through this RFP, the County of Middlesex is seeking to engage one firm to provide professional consultant services for a County of Middlesex project. The contract will be for the Replacement of Inter-County Bridge 3-B-40, Old Bridge Matawan Road over Lefferts Lake, Old Bridge Township, Middlesex County & Matawan Township Monmouth County, N.J. The major objective of the PE Phase is to further develop and refine the PPA with the detail necessary to secure the approval of the environmental document and a Design Exception Report. A Pre-proposal Meeting will be scheduled and held via Teams. Question Deadline 08/30/2024 at 4:00 PM ET Question Response Deadline: August 30, 2024, 4:00pm. Any and all questions and assumptions, clarifications, modifications, or exceptions, must be submitted in the Question & Answer section no less than 5 (five) days prior to the pre-proposal meeting.
