Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Saint Albans, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Town of Saint Albans is seeking bids from construction contractors for the construction of approximately 31-feet of new/replacement sidewalk, one tree stump removal, and paving to match the sidewalk to the traveled roadway and in the driveway in the town's right of way. The project location is 60 Huntington Street in the Town of Saint Albans. SCOPE OF WORK The Scope of Work for this project includes the following tasks, but is not limited to: 1. Removal and disposal of one tree stump. 2. Removal and disposal of three panels of concrete sidewalk and the existing paved sidewalk. 3. Installation of approximately 31 feet of new 3500 psi Portland Cement Concrete. a. Cylinder strength testing will be required. b. Concrete thickness shall be a minimum of 6-inches across the driveway, 5-inches if not in a driveway. c. 6-in of compacted gravel subbase required meeting VTrans Spec 704.06. d. Expansion joints to be used. e. Provide coarse broom finish perpendicular to direction of travel. f. Coat new sidewalk with concrete sealer and anti-spalling compound. 4. Paving a. Sawcut and install Type IV bituminous asphalt pavement to match Huntington Street to the new sidewalk. b. Install approximately 4-feet of Type IV bituminous asphalt pavement on the driveway side of the new sidewalk. c. Where additional subbase is needed, it shall conform to VTrans Spec 704.05B, Coarse Gravel, Fine Graded d. Where additional driveway gravel is needed, DPW will supply and install. It is the Town's desire to have the construction of the project completed by September 30, 2024.
