Renovation of a mixed-use development in Paso Robles, California. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a library; and municipal facility.

The City Hall/Library building was opened in 1995 and maintenance and upgrades to the facility have been deferred over a number of years. The building and site are aging and require attention to ensure longevity and usefulness. In 2023, the City contracted with 19six Architects to conduct an analysis of the stucco around the facility because of recent cracking that has occurred. After examining several locations, the stucco system was not constructed properly. As a result, consequential failure has occurred, resulting in corrosion of the expanded metal lath and fasteners, excessive stucco cracking, soft and crumbly stucco, deterioration of the weather-resistive barrier, damaged gypsum sheathing, blistering elastomeric paint, defective corner reinforcements and expansion joints. This project would remove and replace stucco for the entire City Hall/Library complex. As of August 3, 2024, this project is included in the city's 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
