Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in El Cerrito, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The Contra Costa County Public Works Department (CCCPWD) is seeking qualified consultants to submit a technical proposal for design services associated with the San Pablo Avenue Complete Streets/Bay Trail Gap Closure Project (Project). Estimated Construction Contract Cost: $9,638,300. Anticipated Start of Construction: Summer 2027 Estimated Working Days: 120 The Project will connect the non-motorized users between the communities of Rodeo and Crockett by constructing infrastructure for bicyclists and pedestrians. The improved facilities implement the San Pablo Avenue Complete Streets Study approved by the County Board of Supervisors in June 2018. Approximately 85% of the project's total length includes the construction of an off-street shared use path between California Street in unincorporated Rodeo and Pomona Street in unincorporated Crockett. This 13,700-foot-long and 10-foot-wide path will be separated from vehicular traffic by a 3-foot-wide buffer that includes a concrete barrier for additional protection. The Project is funded by the State Active Transportation Program (ATP-state), the Federal Congressionally Directed Spending, and Local Road Funds including the West County Sub regional Transportation Mitigation Program (STMP) and Gas Tax. The design services portion of this project is not funded with federal dollars, therefore there is no applicable Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal. Consultants are required to follow all pertinent Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations. The proposals will be evaluated and ranked by a selection committee according to the criteria provided in this RFP. The proposals submitted in response to this RFP will be used as a basis for selecting the Consultant for this Project. Submit questions before 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Questions received after this deadline will remain unanswered. Costs for preparation of the proposal shall be borne by the Consultants. Additionally, 650 linear feet of Class II bike lanes will be constructed between Rodeo Avenue and Parker Avenue to connect bicyclists between the shared use path at the Lone Tree Point Park along the northern side of San Pablo Avenue and existing Class II bike lanes from Parker Avenue to California Street.
