1) The Town of Fogo Island requires a source yield assessment on 2 of its municipal water supplies; Long Pond servicing the communities of Joe Batt's Arm and Barr'd Islands, and Freeman's Pond servicing the community of Fogo. Both water supplies have encountered issues with yield during dry seasons in recent years, in addition to issues with water quality. With the ever-changing precipitation rates due to climate change, it is important for the Town to complete an analysis/study of these supplies to address issues with the quantity and quality of water to adequately supply current and future demands of the systems. It is the goal of the Town to engage a speciality consultant to perform an assessment of both water supplies.
