The improvements generally consist of the following: 18,953 CY of Channel Bank Repair; 1,305 TON of Class D Revetment; 2.0 ACRE of Hydraulic Seeding; 22.4 TON of Removal of Flood Debris; and other items incidental thereto. Each proposal shall be made on a form furnished by the Board through its Engineer, and shall be accompanied by a bid security in the form of a deposit of cash, a certified check on and certified by a bank in Iowa, a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa, or a bid bond with corporate surety satisfactory to and on a form furnished by the Board; bid bonds on any other form will not be accepted and the bids they secure will not be opened. The bid security must be payable to the Harrison County Auditor or the Auditor's order at the Auditor's office in a sum equal to five percent of the amount of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained, shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the Upper Boyer Drainage District from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor. Fifty (50) working days will be allowed for this project. Liquidated damages in the amount of $1,000 per day shall be assessed the Contractor for each working day that any work remains uncompleted beyond the number of working days allowed or any extension granted. The Late Start Date for this project is October 15, 2024. Winter work is not required on this project. Working days will be charged during winter work Written Notice to Proceed will be issued within 5 calendar days of receipt of all required regulatory permits. The work on the proposed contract shall be commenced within 10 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is issued or by October 15, 2024, whichever date is later. The Board reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive informalities.
