This is a narrow location, requiring vendor and DOT to work with the City of Logan to load and move the tower as it is unassembled. The tower sections will be stacked on north side of fence. The Mo. Valley DOT Garage will crush and dispose of the tower. The tower building is not the responsibility of the tower removal vendor. Tower vendor will work with DOT Radio Communications Technology personnel and the Mo. Vally Garage on the removal. , 1. Removal of all antennas, antenna mounts and cabling. This includes the safety fall cable. The safety cable must be preserved as part of the tower equipment. All antennas, mounts and cabling to be disposed of by the tower company. 2. Cost of rented or contracted work by a third party is the responsibility of the tower company. 3. Crane to remove each section and stack on the north side of the tower fence. 4. Tower drawings are not available. A similar tower drawing is included for weight of sections. 5. Vendor tower workers are required to be Certified Tower Workers. Minimum requirement is a Telecommunications Tower Technician, (or equivalent) and certified and/or accredited by the National Association of Tower Erectors, (NATE), or equivalent. (NATE is the leading authority in the telecommunications industry and sets the standards for tower climbing and safety.) Vendor shall provide proof of current Tower Climbing Certificates and any other safety, OSHA and other credentials at the time of bid. Project end date- 6/1/2025 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). No considerations or revision in the contract price or scope of the project will be considered by the Iowa DOT for any item which could have been revealed by a thorough on-site inspection and examination.
