In accordance with Contract Documents, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and disposal as necessary to complete the construction of Security Improvements at Shelter Island Harbor Police Building. The Work Includes: 1. In accordance with Contract Documents, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supplies, transportation, and disposal as necessary to complete the construction of Security Improvements at Shelter Island Harbor Police Building. 2. The work shall include, but not limited to the following as shown on the Plans SI2023-01 and described in these Specifications 2024-02 of the San Diego Unified Port District. a. General Construction 1) Inspect, verify and protect bullet-resistant materials and assemblies, related components and hardware. 2) Coordinate the Work of the Contract Document with work performed by the District as indicated in Part 1.10 of this Section. 3) Removal and reinstallation and replacement of work obstructions including but not limited to window coverings, furniture, lamps, etc. 4) Protection of items indicated to remain. 5) Disposal and clean-up. b. Selective Demolition for Openings 1) Removal and salvage of door security keypads. 2) Selective door systems demolition (D1, D2, D3). 3) Restoration of damaged improvements to match existing. c. Installation of bullet-resistant products, related components and hardware per manufacturer's recommendations. 1) Installation of joint sealant in accordance with joint sealant 2) Furnish necessary incidentals to complete the installation of bullet-resistant products. d. Painting of new steel doors; all components to be replaced in kind; and touch-ups as shown on Plans. 1) Paint color and finish to match existing finishes. 3. It is intended that the Work be completed in every respect under the Contract Document, and such items or details not mentioned above or not included in the Bid Schedule that are required by the Contract Documents shall be furnished, performed, placed, constructed, or installed by the Contractor. 4. The Contractor will be provided with limited notice to proceed (LNTP) shortly after award date to measure existing doors and windows, prepare required submittals and initiate procurement of bullet-resistant products from the manufacturer. Port reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informality in a bid.
