Renovation of a mixed-use development in Glens Falls, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Electrical Construction Budget: 775,000 The Work consists of the following, but not limited to: 1. Middle/ High School; Alterations and Reconstruction work to these areas: Chorus Classroom, General Music Classroom, Fitness Room, Cardio classroom and Toilet Rooms. Infrastructure upgrades including corridor ceiling reconstruction and lighting upgrades, interior door and hardware replacement, HVAC upgrades and chiller replacement, electrical upgrades, reconstruct terrazzo floor, flooring replacement, reconstructing corridor ramp, roofing replacement, elevator replacement, hand railing replacement in stairwells, and masonry reconstruction. Site Work: Reconstructing the parking lots and sidewalks, replace site lighting, reconstructing exterior concrete stair and ramp, fence replacement, reconstruct basketball court and providing new exterior fitness classroom. 2. Jackson Heights Elementary - Cupola repair work, rooftop mechanical work, window replacement, and a new digital sign. Any bid received after the time and date stated above will be returned to the bidder unopened. Any bidder requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all packaging and shipping costs. The deposit will be refunded ONLY to those bidders who submit a bona fide bid proposal in accordance with the terms in the "Information for Bidders" and who return a complete set of Bidding Documents in COMPLETE, UNMARKED, and NOT TORN condition to REV within thirty (30) days after the award of contract(s) covered by such Bidding Documents, or the rejection of such bid(s). Non-bidders, including material suppliers and subcontractors, as well as plan holders who do not submit bid proposals, WILL NOT be eligible for a refund. Each Bidder shall prepare their bid proposal, along with a bid security, in accordance with the terms and subject to the conditions set forth in the "Information for Bidders". Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contracts. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 45 days after the date of the actual bid opening. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or defects in such bid either before or after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to consider informal any bid not prepared and submitted in accordance with the provisions of this information for Bidders and the General Conditions and to waive any informalities in or to reject any or all bids either before or after the bid opening. No bidder may withdraw a bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the bid opening. BID SECURITY: A. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, by certified check of the bidder or by a bid bond prepared on a standard approved form, duly executed by the bidder as principal, and having as surety thereon a surety company authorized to do business within the State of New York. B. Bid security shall be in an amount not less than 10 percent of the base bid and alternates or not less than 10 percent of the sum of base bids and alternates where such base bids may be considered cumulative. Such cash or checks will be returned to all, except the three lowest formal bidders, within three working days after the formal opening of bids and the remaining cash or checks will be returned to the three lowest bidders within 48 hours after the Owner and the accepted bidder have executed a contract. If no contract has been so executed within 45 days after the opening of bids, bid security will be returned upon demand of the bidder at any time thereafter so long as he has not been notified of the acceptance of his bid. 6. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES FOR FAILURE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT: A. The successful bidder, upon his failure or refusal to execute and deliver the contract and bond required within 15 days after he had received notice of the acceptance of his bid, shall forfeit to the Owner, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, the security deposited with his bid, as specified in Paragraph 5. 7. CONDITIONS OF WORK: A. Each bidder must inform himself fully of the conditions relating to the construction and labor under which the work is now being or will be performed. Failure to do so will not relieve a successful bidder of his obligations to furnish all material and labor necessary to carry out the provisions of the contract documents and to complete the contemplated work for the consideration set forth in his bid. B. Insofar as possible, the Contractor in the carrying out of his work must employ such methods or means as will not cause an interruption of or interference with the work of any other contractor. Simultaneously with his delivery of the executed contract, the successful bidder must deliver to the Owner three (3) copies of an executed bond in the amount of 100 percent of the accepted bid as security for the faithful performance of the contract and for the payment of all persons performing labor or furnishing materials in connection therewith, prepared in the standard form of Performance Bond, Labor and Materials Payment Bond, AIA Form A312 and having as surety thereon such surety company or companies are A. M. Best rated at "A/XII or better, appear on the Treasury Department's list of "Approved Sureties", are authorized to transact business in New York State, and are acceptable to and approved by the Owner. This requirement will not apply in the case of contracts for supplies only and involving no labor on the site. All project closeout documentation is due no later than January 30, 2026.
