Renovation of an educational facility in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Portage la Prairie Campus Mechanical System Upgrades including replacing two air handling units, provide building cooling system and add additional control systems for our Portage la Prairie Campus. The existing systems are beyond the extent of their useful life. This building is remotely monitored, and additional building control would greatly benefit the operation of the facility. One air handling unit is interior to the building and the other is located on the roof. Both units have steam heating coils and no cooling. The building is solely heated by two steam boilers. The Colleges preference would be to move the air handlers to a different heating source as well as add cooling to either the units or locally. Redundancy in heating is important to the College as is energy efficiency. TIMELINE: An RFP for engineering design has closed. Submissions are under review. Updates will be made upon award of contract, anticipated October 2024.
