Site work and new construction of an office development in District 23, Ballenger, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a office development; and for site work for a office development.

Update: This project will consist of converting an existing open courtyard inside the secure perimeter of the facility, enclosing this courtyard, and making office space for mental health counselors. The proposed layout will include three to four offices, interview rooms, and a staging room. Currently the facility is overcrowded with regards to office space. The current mental health staff (3 contract staff and 1 from the Health Department) share one office. There is currently only one designated space to conduct mental health interviews/exams, and this space is also utilized for inmate disciplinary hearings, inmate orientations and other various activities. In this same area of the facility, there are classification specialists and other support staff also sharing office space (3 staff together in one office and 4 staff in the other office). The additional office space would also open up the current office space for the Inmate Services Classification Specialists to utilize.
