Site work for a mixed-use development in Columbia, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and swimming pool.

The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a contractor to complete the skatepark - phase II at Douglass Park, in Columbia, MO. The identified area for the skatepark shall be approximately 4,000-6,000 square feet No faxed or e-mail responses shall be accepted. If you choose to submit manually, (hard paper copy) go to "Attachments" print the Final RFP in its entirety, complete and submit to: City of Columbia, 701 East Broadway, Purchasing/5th Floor, Columbia, MO 65201 Bids must be received in Purchasing and date stamped by the bid closing date and time. Bids shall be in a sealed envelope, have the bid number and description labeled on the outside of the envelope. All questions concerning the solicitation and specifications shall be submitted in writing via e-mail to the name below. You are encouraged to submit your questions via e-mail. An Addendum to this RFQ providing the City of Columbia's official response will be issued if necessary to all known prospective bidders. Questions must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 30, 2024. Contractor shall provide, at a minimum per Attachment 1: o Prefabricated concrete skatepark features, components and elements o Grading and excavation for base and sub-base as needed, for installation of all concrete features o Placement of sub-slabs for concrete features, all sawcutting and cold joints o Installation of all skatepark feature(s), components and elements o Coping and rail sections necessary per the skatepark features o Concrete cylinder testing reports for all precast concrete features TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Contractor shall comply with the following requirements, at a minimum: o Coping and steel edging shall be cleaned, primed and painted correctly o At no point shall standard 'flat' concrete be less than 5" thick o At no point shall ramp or bank concrete be less than 6" thick o At no point shall reinforcing steel be smaller than 3/8" rebar. Welded wire mesh may be used WITH but not in place of-rebar o At no point shall reinforcing steel be spaced more than 12" on center except in flat pours where 18" is acceptable o No concrete shall have a comprehensive strength of less than 4000 pounds per square inch (psi) o Water added to concrete on site, shall not exceed one (1) gallon per yard. Water shall remain on truck unless allowed by City representative o All concrete shall be poured in place and obtained from a plant not further than thirty (30) miles from project site o Concrete shall be completely placed within one hundred twenty (120) minutes of leaving batch plant o No concrete shall have an aggregate smaller than 3/8" o No concrete shall be poured at a slump greater than 5" o All vertical faces shall be vibrated smooth with no voids or projections o Steel coping shall be anchored by welded steel anchors. Rebar is NOT considered a steel anchor. All anchors shall be at minimum, cold rolled black steel rod or bolts o Steel coping anchors shall never be placed within 2" of surface of concrete, thus avoiding cracking and rust broadcast o ALL concrete shall have a 1/8" radius tooled edge, in any instance where edge comes in contact with steel edging o Vertical 1/4" steel plate is exempt from above requirement Contractor shall comply with the following warranty requirements, at a minimum: o Concrete product(s) shall be free from hydration cracking for the entire duration of construction o Cracks concrete, in excess of 1 /4-inch shall be warranted for one (1 ) year o All steel edging shall be warranted against becoming loose for a period of one (1) year o All concrete surfaces shall be warranted against surface spalling or scaling for a period of one (1) year o Concrete under or adjacent to steel edging or coping shall be free from voids, chipping, and/or failure for a period of one (1) year Question Deadline 08/30/2024 at 5:00 PM CT
