Project Description: The proposed construction consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor necessary to complete the Intersection Improvements for S. Houston Lake Road at Smithville Church Road (project roadway length is 0.227 miles). Work includes grading, curb & gutter, sidewalk, base placement, paving (including overlay), storm drainage, traffic signal installation and the implementation of the erosion, sediment, and pollution control plan and comprehensive monitoring program. Further work includes installation of Water Mains. All work shall be in accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation standard specifications and supplemental specifications (latest edition), the Georgia Manual for Erosion and Sediment Control (latest edition), and Houston County. Prequalification of Bidder: All bidders must hold a current Georgia Department of Transportation Certificate of Qualification. The bidder's Georgia Utility Contractor's License Number and E-Verify Number shall also be marked on the outside of the bid envelop. Bonds: All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount not less than ten percent (10%)
of the Total Base Bid. Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent by an acceptable Surety Company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of Treasury, Circular 570, latest edition. Permits: The successful bidder shall secure and pay for all permits, assessments, charges or fees required in connection with the proposed construction. Right of Way/ Easements: All anticipated rights of way and easements required for the project have been obtained or will be obtained prior to the bid opening Houston County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or technicalities or to readvertise as appropriate. (100%) of the total contract amount, will be required of the successful bidder.
