Cookstown Community Park is located at 20 Church Street in Cookstown and currently includes a Library/Community Hall building, a playground, splashpad, outdoor fitness equipment, trails, and a winter skating rink, it is adjacent to the Cookstown Curling Club. The Town is looking to expand the park amenities and add one tennis court, 2 pickleball courts, including lights, trees, benches/garbage pads, and trail links to the existing limestone trail. The Town would also like to look at provisionally improving the parking lot around the existing Curling Club including the granular road surrounding the club and adding a minimum 8 vehicle parking area at the east end of the curling club (granular or asphalt budget dependant). Community interest in pickleball courts reflects its growth in participation and providing courts will also increase the range of facilities and programming available within the Town for outdoor sports and recreation.
