Sanibel Bridge Toll Plaza - South Stair Tower Reconstruction Question Deadline 06/30/2025 at 5:00 PM ET The Lee County Board of County Commissioners seeks to contract with a qualified CONTRACTOR to provide repair / reconstruction services to Sanibel Bridge Toll Plaza South Stair Tower which was damaged by Hurricane Ian. The work covered by these specifications consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary in connection with repairs as detailed in the provided Project Plans. Work to be performed by the CONTRACTOR shall include, but is not limited to: Demolish and remove structural and architectural elements at the south stairs as indicated in the Project Plans. Install drilled shafts to a depth of 40 feet below grade. Work is to be performed in accordance with FDOT Standard Specifications 455 C and the Project Plans. Develop and implement a plan for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) as necessary for construction operations. The Plan is to be submitted to the COUNTY for review and approval. Monitor existing structures for settlement and vibration according to FDOT Standard Specification 108. Construct foundations, masonry walls, stairs, and other structural and architectural elements in accordance with the Project Plans. Construct conduit pathways and cabling from underground pull box to stairs for Access Control as outlined in the bid tab and depicted on attachment 3.2 and per Florida Building Code 8th edition. Above ground conduit pathways to be internally mounted within CMU block wall. Termination boxes or any exterior boxes servicing the access control to be weather tight. Working Drawing to be submitted for review. Construct security access gate door for the South Stair that has conduit pathway for Access Control as outlined in the bid tab and depicted attachment 3.3 and per Florida Building Code 8th edition. Shop drawing for door to be submitted for review. Restore / repair areas of damaged or deteriorated concrete as indicated in the Project Plans.
