This new Emergency Operations Center is an approximately 9,700 square foot, single-story steel and load bearing masonry building with a structural slab on timber pile foundation system. Exterior materials include brick, cast stone, storm rated windows, doors, and aluminum entrances. The entire building is designed to meet FEMA 361 requirements for this wind region (200mph). All exterior openings (doors, windows, louvers, etc) and building shell (walls, roof, etc) are designed to meet this wind speed and its associated design pressures. The roof deck is concrete over metal deck supported by steel framing and load bearing masonry.
