GCRTA is requesting proposals from qualified and interested firms experienced in Architectural and Engineering Design Services for the rehabilitation of the Light Rail Blue Line Guard Walls and Retaining Walls adjoining the Lee/Van Aken Rapid Transit Station located at 3420 Lee Road, Shaker Heights, 44120. The successful firm will start with a preliminary design and progress it to a final design package for construction, provide support during both bidding and construction, and conclude with supplying as-built documentation. GCRTA wants to improve the walls approaching and just beyond the transit station to Avalon Road. The brick veneer on the face of the guard walls is delaminating with no attachment to the wall. The soundness and structural stability of the walls needs to be evaluated. The designed walls should work with the decorative style of the renovated Lee/Van Aken Station that was improved in 2014. The walls are to be reconstructed with long-lasting, easily maintained materials. The successful Consultant team will provide a comprehensive transit design team of architectural and engineering services. The project design shall include any necessary slope improvements from Van Aken Boulevard down to the transit rail. The Consultant will bring a team of qualified professionals demonstrating significant experience as necessary to successfully rehabilitate the Light Rail Blue Line Guard Wall and Retaining Walls within the project budget. The DBE goal for this procurement is THREE percent (3%). The project is subject to the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) policy of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority. The Authority reserves the right to make an award without further discussions or to reject any or all proposals when it is considered in the best interest of the Authority to do so. The Authority reserves the right to award a contract or reject all proposals.
