License Requirements Class A or C-27 Liquidated Damages $1,000 per day Estimated Bid Value $245,000.00 Project Duration 35 working days Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% The work to be performed consists, in general, but not limited to, hand removal and other non-chemical removal of weeds and non-native vegetation, soil preparation of areas to be seeded and planted, and tree planting with tree protection cages and deep root watering pipes. The project also includes drill-seeding and hydroseeding applications per specifications, one year of site maintenance including hand weeding, hand watering and other items stipulated in the revegetation plan and a one-year warranty. All questions and requests for clarification regarding this project must be submitted in writing on the Request for Information Form provided in the bid documents. Said questions and requests for clarification must be directed to Isaac Garza, Public Works Department, by email at igarza@bakersfieldcity.us. No bid will be considered unless it is made on a proposal form furnished by the Purchasing Officer, which appears in Part D of this document, and is made in accordance with the provisions set forth under Section 2, "Proposal Requirements", of the special provisions issued for this project. Each bid must be accompanied by a proposal guarantee in accordance with the provisions set forth under Section 2, "Proposal Requirements", of the special provisions issued for this project. The City of Bakersfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bids are required on the entire work described herein. Substitution of securities for moneys retained to ensure performance shall be permitted pursuant to the provisions and requirements of Public Contracts Code 22300. Eligible securities include interest bearing demand deposit accounts, standby letters of credit, or any other security agreed to by the Contractor and the City of Bakersfield. The request for substitution of securities to be deposited shall be submitted on the form entitled "Escrow Agreement for Security Deposits in Lieu of Retention," a copy of which is included in Part E of this document. The Contractor must possess a valid Class A and/or a Class C-27 Contractor's License at the time bids are received for this project. The Contractor shall ensure that all subcontractors are properly licensed for the work they are to perform.
