Inquiries regarding the Request for Proposal RFP shall be submitted electronically using the RFI form provided as an attachment four (4). The last days of submission of RFI must be submitted and received by 20 Aug 2024 at 8:00 A.M. (PST) PROJECT DESCRIPTION This is design-build project. Provide the complete design package and construct landscape/xeriscape and site improvements for Naval Air Station at Lemoore, CA. This project is located in the operation side of the base. It is intended of this request that the contractor provide separate pricing for Base Item and Option Item. - Base Bid: Site furnishings are required to conform to the Installation Appearance Plan (IAP). At Bldg 43, provide bench seating, trash, and recycling receptacles at entry as indicated on the diagram in Part 6. - Bldg. 1 Option A: to include Base Bid, plus provide designated courtyard space adjacent to existing gazebo for BBQ use. See Part 6. - Bldg. 10 Option B: to include Base Bid, plus replace existing break area at back of Galley along Reeves with new pad, picnic table, and trees for shade per diagram in Part 6. - Bldg. 43 Option C: to include Base Bid, plus provide picnic tables, trash and recycling receptacles, and benches as indicate This is a Design Build project located at Naval Air Station Lemoore. Base Bid for his project involves turfgrass replacement and drought tolerant landscape renovation for Building 43 with options. Option 1 at building 43, scope to include repair and replacement of pedestrian concrete. Additional options, include building 10 as Option 2 and building 1 as Option 3 see other parts of this RFP for option requirements. The project will include replacing the current landscaping and irrigation with CA native and drought tolerant trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and water-efficient irrigation systems along with Engineered Natural Treatments (LID features) to reduce water use and improve the aesthetics, microclimate, and soil quality on these sites. Scope to include repair and replacement of pedestrian concrete will also be included in this RFP as an option. Options will also include creating outdoor break areas, and ceremonial areas for promotions and photos. The Central Valley very little rainfall, around 5 inches per year, and the soils are high in alkalinity and salinity. The goal for this landscape project is to create a template/palette of CA native and drought tolerant plants, and landscape design features that can eventually be applied to all turf replacement projects base wide. The benefits of incorporating region specific CA native plants into the landscape include Climate Adaptability and Resilience, Low Maintenance, Water Conservation, Soil Health Improvement, Biodiversity Support, Aesthetic and Cultural Value, carbon sequestration, and pest and disease resistance. In addition to native plants, adding tree cover is essential to the improvement of the sites by reducing soil salinity through evapotranspiration, salt uptake and exclusion through their tissues and roots, enhancing the porosity of the soil. Landscape Architect and Civil Engineer must be involved. The project is subject to prevailing wage and the Buy American Act *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
