The Board of School Directors reserves the right to accept any bid, which it deems most favorable to the interests of the School District and to reject any and all bids or any portion of any bid, submitted which, in its opinion, is not in the best interest of the School District. The school district also reserves the right to waive any technicalities in the bid process not in the best interest of the district. Project Location: Twin Valley Middle High School, Whitingham, VT The purpose of this project is to replace the existing underground portion of the steel district heating piping connecting the wood boiler plant with the hydronic heating system in the school's boiler room. The school intends to hire one contractor to manage and execute the replacement of the piping. The contractor shall coordinate utility location, any construction stormwater requirements, and any permits that need to be pulled. All work shall be coordinated with the school with regard to scheduling. The contractor is permitted to leave in place the existing district heating piping, or to remove it as is most beneficial to proper execution of the work. The contractor shall be aware that there is an existing water line and existing electrical conduit that runs in parallel to the existing district heating piping. These utilities shall remain in place, and will need to be repaired by the contractor ifthey are impacted by the work. The work in the contract is described as follows: 1. District Heating Piping Replacement - The contractor will provide all labor, materials, consumables, and other work necessary for installation ofnew district heating piping and connecting it to existing piping in the wood energy plant and boiler room in the school. The work covers: Excavation and stormwater management :- 1) Removal of existing district heating piping as necessary for execution ofthe work a) Grouting and leaving in place any district heating piping as desired. b Underground piping supply, installation, cleaning, flushing, and hydrostatic leak testing 1) Including providing designed shop drawings from piping system vendor and supporting and restraint of underground piping system entering each building per piping system vendor requirements Connections of new underground pipe in wood energy plant and school boiler room Backfill oftrench and repair ofsurfaces and work area to original condition. 1) Includes repair of any damage to existing underground utilities that are to remain in service. Replace underground heating pipes from woodchip boiler building to boiler room of main building. Completion:- December 1, 2024.
