Purchase of Design Professional Services for the New Mexico Higher Education Department(NMHED). The Scope of Work Entailed is to Design and Construct the New Mexico Literacy Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Institute is Needed to Promote Literacy for Children From Early Childhood Through High School. All questionsabout the contents ofthe RFP documentshall be directed to: Joseph Lovato Procurement Manager 2542 Cerrillos Rd. T-187Santa Fe NM 87505 505-487-3825 Joseph.Lovato@gsd.n m.gov The scope of work for the Institute will include but not necessarily be limited to all the design phases. Additional work will be added to the fee as needed. As-needed services may include, but are not limited to: Planning and feasibility study for building location on the site, furniture and equipment, utility infrastructure upgrades, site investigations for soil testing, utility locations and topographical survey. Specialty sub consultants may include audio'visual experts and others are needed. The design of the project shall conform to the Green Building Standards as defined by the New Mexico General Services Department's Facilities Management Division (FMD). The design shall integrate building materials and methods that promote environmental quality, economic vitality, and social benefit through the construction and operation of the built environment. The intent of the New Mexico Literacy Institute is to create a built environment that provides the highest level possible of operational efficiency, as well as navigational ease and instructional support for the building tenants and visitors. The design proposal must also meet any energy efficiency standards mandated for State-owned facilities in New Mexico. Please note that LEED is not applicable if the building units are below 15,000 square feet, and Energy Star will be required. The design shall entail a complete design for the New Mexico Literacy Institute which will house student interventions; a laboratory school; educator trainings and professional development; and family and community engagement opportunities. The Institute spaces will consist of: a. Ample reception area and lobby with seating in the main entryway of the Institute b. A minimum of six (6) but no more than eight (8) administrative offices to house tenants c. Sixteen (16) to twenty (20) classrooms - approximately 10 to 20 students per classroom - with four (4) classrooms with built-in observation windows and speaker systems for professionals and families to utilize during observation periods i. Classrooms must have smartboards and individual computers for third grade students and beyond ii. Most classrooms should have natural lights and windows facing outdoors d. Six (6) spaces for small group engagements - up to six individuals - for one-on-one interventions and support, assessments, evaluations, student and family consultations, etc. e. Three (3) to four (4) adult learning and support spaces for professionals or families to utilize with capacity for one computer station, smartboard, and projector f. Large multipurpose space for a cafeteria, speakers, or events; must include direct access to a kitchen and food preparation station Question Deadline 08/30/2024 at 5:00 PM MT Potential Offerors may submit written questions to the Procurement Manager as to the intent or clarity of this RFP until the date/time as indicated in the sequence of events. All written questions must be addressed to the Procurement Manager. Questions shall be clearly labeled and shall cite the Section(s) in the RFP or other document which form the basis of the question.
