The project consists of the demolition of the existing pier and dock system and the construction of a new timber pier at Trails End Park, 613 Trails End Park, Wilmington, NC in accordance with the construction documents. The pier is approximately 6' wide x 80' long with a 16' x 16' platform. The pier also has 2 gangways, 1 floating dock, and 1 floating dock with an integrated kayak launch. Bids will be received for a Single Prime Contract. Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statues. A Bid Bond Equal to 5% of the bid price is required by all bidders. The successful bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Bids may be withdrawn by bidders prior to the time set for official opening. After time has been called, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of one hundred twenty days (120) after the time and date of opening except as provided by 143-129.1. The bidder shall make good faith efforts, as defined in the bid specifications, to subcontract 10% of the dollar value of the single prime contract to businesses owned and controlled by minorities. The County reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which is in the best interest of the County.
