Capital Infrastructure Renewal Program for the 2024-25 construction season. a) Alexander Street (civic number 186 to end) The first component of this project involves installing approximately 130m of new water main with 150mm diameter pipe. This includes roughly 10 small-diameter residential services, one new gate valve, one fire hydrant and one connection to the existing 150mm water main extending to the end of the street. The existing 50mm galvanized pipe currently servicing the area will be abandoned. b) Ellsworth Avenue (Ling Street to MacNeils Lane) The second component of this project involves replacing approximately 425m of existing water main with new 200mm diameter pipe. This includes roughly 25 small-diameter residential services, eight gate valves, three fire hydrants and seven connections to existing water mains (includes side streets). The existing 150mm cast iron pipe currently servicing the area will be abandoned. c) Trunk 28 - New Waterford Highway (MacNeils Lane to Samuels Lane) project involves replacing approximately 375m of existing water main with new 200mm diameter pipe. This includes roughly 30 small-diameter residential services, seven gate valves, two fire hydrants and seven connections to existing water mains (includes side streets). The side street pipe diameter ranges from 50 to 200mm. The existing 150mm cast iron pipe currently servicing the area will be abandoned. TIMELINE: Timelines for tender and construction of projects b & c (Ellsworth Avenue & Trunk 28) to be determined. The two projects are expected to be carried out under one contract.
