Waterloo Central School District - 2023 Capital Improvement Project Separate Bid is requested for the following Prime Contract: Contract 104 - MECHANICAL CONTRACT The Board of Education hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all Bids or to accept the one that in its judgment will be for the best interest of the school district. A Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the Owner in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid, subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders, must be deposited by each Bidder with his Bid as a guarantee that, in the case the contract is awarded to him, he will then, ten days thereafter, execute such contract and furnish a satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond, and the Bidder shall not withdraw his Bid for a period of forty-five days after the above date of Bid opening, and to guarantee the performance of all other obligations of the Bidders as set forth in Instructions to Bidders. Bids shall be on the form provided in the documents, prepared in duplicate as set forth in the Instructions to Bidders and enclosed in an envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the bidder and the title of work to which the proposal relates. If submitting for more than one contract, submit each contract bid in a separate envelope. Mechanical Construction Contract #104 1. The Mechanical Contractor (MC) shall furnish all material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, supervision, management, and administration required for the total performance of the work of this contract as listed in the following specification sections and shown on the following drawings including, but not limited to: a. Code Compliance Drawings prefixed with the letter (G). b. HVAC Drawings prefixed with the letter (H). c. Provide the complete work for all sections of 00, 01, and 23. d. Specifications Sections Division 028333 (related to lead), 260010 Basic Electrical Requirements, 260100 Basic Materials and Methods, 260519 Low Voltage Cables (related to control work) as it relates to Mechanical work. e. Refer to 011000, 1.5 (E) for "Owner Procured Remedial Contractor" scope of work. 2. The MC shall provide a laborer for Two hundred (200) hours to work under the direction of the Construction Manager. The MC shall calculate the 200 hours at a rate of $85/hr. and shall include this cost as part of the base bid. Hours shall be tracked by submission of weekly time tickets provided by the MC and signed by the Construction Manager. 3. The MC shall provide access panels where necessary as a means to access plumbing valves/equipment. Access panels/doors shall match wall and ceiling fire ratings. 4. The MC shall provide housekeeping pads for equipment provided. At minimum, pads shall be constructed of 4000 psi concrete, be 4" thick and sized large enough for equipment to be placed on pad with 6" concrete reveal at all sides. 5. Louvers shall be furnished by the MC for installation by GC. Sheet metal sleeves and other accessories associated with louver installation shall be provided by the MC. 6. The MC shall provide mechanical equipment submittals within four (4) weeks after award of contract. 7. Balancing of systems is to coincide with the phasing plan and occupancy requirements. Contractor shall schedule individual unit balancing as directed by Construction Manager. There will be no additional compensation for multiple trips required due to phasing or occupancy requirements 8. The MC shall provide as many pressure tests on work as needed to maintain the Construction Schedule.
