Renovation of a municipal facility in Long Beach, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Furnish materials and repair services for specific areas of the roof, the concrete walls of the Fleet Administration building and their connecting windows, and skylights covering numerous areas of the Fleet Services Bureau's buildings. This request for proposal shall encompass the restoration and/or repair of the roof, repair and resealing of the skylights and windows, and the repair of the concrete walls in specified areas of Fleet Services. Questions Due to the City: August 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received prior to contract award. Description of Services This request for proposal shall encompass the restoration and/or repair of the roof, repair and resealing of the skylights and windows, and the repair of the concrete walls in specified areas of Fleet Services. The contractor is responsible for using their knowledge, experience, and information gathered at the mandatory site walk to draft a detailed proposal that fits the needs of Fleet Services. In their proposal, the contractor is required to provide the following: 1. Detailed description of work to be performed a) Since the project entails working on multiple areas of the roof encompassing the Fleet Services Bureau, skylights, windows and concrete walls at Fleet Services, the contractor should provide a detailed description of the work plan for each area with time-lines included. 2. The itemized cost of the project, including cost of materials, labor and any pertinent fees. 3. Detailed description of material(s) to be used and explanation for choosing. 4. Detailed description of warranty coverage period for maintenance, repairs and all products and/or materials. Also provide detail of any applicable manufacturer and installation warranties. Fleet Services Roof Repair | RFP - FM-24-473 | Template v11.30.23 | 7 The proposed services must include, but shall not be limited to the following: o Removal and the restoration/replacement of roofing material and associated components covering the Electronic Shop, Fleet Administration Building, Tire Shop, Storage Room and the Towing Administration buildings at Fleet Services. Examples of materials/coatings acceptable for use include: Spray polyurethane foam, Title 24 compliant reflective roofing material, APOC 252 white elastomeric coating. o Repair of the concrete walls connected to the roof in the Fleet Services building to address leaks ans structural concerns. o Repair and/or resealing of the skylights above the Tire Shop and Electronic shop in Fleet Services. o Repair and/or resealing of the window seals in the Fleet Administration Building at Fleet Services. o Removal of debris from the roof and drains prior to start of the repair/restoration. o Establish an annual preventative maintenance schedule to inspect the condition for wear and tear conduct as needed repairs. o Establish a multi-year warranty period with a vendor for the following: Maintenance and repairs. Warranty should also include specifications for annual maintenance for the roof, skylights, and resealing of windows. A warranty for any products or materials used The contractor is responsible for cleaning of area and removal of debris prior to and after the completion of work to ensure quality of repairs. The contractor is responsible for the loading, hauling, unloading, disposal and fees and expenses associated with waste resulting from the project. All equipment, materials or services provided shall follow all applicable State, Federal and Local Laws and Regulations. The contractor is also responsible for communicating and working with the Faciltiies Supervisor to secure parking and storage space needed for the equipment and vehicles necessary to complete the project. Fleet Services Roof Repair | RFP - FM-24-473 | Template v11.30.23 | 8 The contractor must also work with the Facilities Supervisor to secure access to areas of Fleet Services where the work specified is needed. The contractor is responsible for taking the necessary precautions to ensure the work site is safe to prevent harm and/or damage to Fleet employees, City property as well as the contractor's own employees and equipment. Hours and schedule in which work on project is to be performed shall be determined by the Facilities Supervisor and members of management.
