The Bridge Structural Grating required pursuant to this Specification will be used for structural repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects of the City of Chicago bridge system. The scope under this specification shall consist of furnishing Bridge Structural Grating to be used for structural repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects of the City of Chicago Bridge System. Bridge Structural Grating will need assembly in a qualified manufacturing plant and under careful quality control. 2. Basis of Award This Contract will consist of furnishing Open Steel Grating - Group A and Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer Grating - Group B. The Bidder can bid one or both groups. The groups are defined as follows: 2.1. Open Steel Grating - Group A, Lines 1.1 through 1.22 This group consists of furnishing Open Grid Steel Grating, for use as a bridge roadway surface including allstructural grating appurtenances. 2.2. Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer Grating - Group B, Lines 2.1 through 2.7 This group consists of furnishing Fiberglass Reinforced Polymer ("FRP") Grating and plate decking system including fastening system and all FRP appurtenances for typical use as bridge deck sidewalk, access platforms and bike lanes..
