Pre-qualification for General Contractors, Mechanical and Electrical Subcontractors for proposed alterations to 3rd and 4th floor of Carl Pollock Hall Building. The renovation areas serve office, lounge, and classroom functions for the department of management engineering. This memo outlines the mechanical efforts associated with scopes of work being considered on the 3rd and 4th floors of Carl A. Pollock Hall (CPH) at the University of Waterloo. The scope areas are defined here: Scope 1 - 120 Person Classroom and Seminar Room (3rd Floor) Scope 2 - 4th Year Design Studio (3rd Floor) Scope 3 - Faculty & Student Lounge (4th Floor) Scope 4 - PhD Open Office and Meeting Rooms (4th Floor) Scope 5 - Mid Size Classroom & Study Space (4th Floor) The proposed renovations to mechanical systems are limited to the equipment and devices directly serving the renovated spaces. Replacement or upgrade of existing central air handling systems is not considered as part of this project. University of Waterloo (UW) proposes to renovate a significant portion of the existing 3rd and 4th floor of the Carl Pollock Hall Building. The project scope is comprised of approximately 6900sqft on the 3rd floor, consisting of interior full-gut renovation of classroom and student learning spaces, and of approximately 10600 sq ft on the 4th floor, consisting of an interior full-gut renovation of classroom, studio, and lounge spaces. Baird Sampson Neuert Architects were retained to design the renovations to a portion of the 3rd and 4th floors of Carl Pollock Hall at the University of Waterloo. It is anticipated that the Bid Call will be issued late October 2026. Construction Start is anticipated for January 2027. Substantial Performance is targeted for June 2028.
