Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Edisto Island, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Remove and replace current boardwalk. Install new section of boardwalk. Install concrete pad. Project Location: 111 Jungle Road, Edisto Beach, SC 29438 Construction Cost Range: 10,000-100,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Town of Edisto Beach is soliciting bids for a contractor to provide the necessary labor, material, equipment, and supervision to remove and rebuild the existing boardwalk, and extend from the current terminus to the newly constructed public restrooms at Jungle Road Park, 107, 109, 111 Jungle Road. Edisto Beach, South Carolina, 29438. A concrete pad at the gravel parking area with a Town supplied kiosk and bicycle repair station will need to be placed at 112 Jungle Road. See the Scope of Work section for additional details. SCOPE OF WORK The Town of Edisto Beach is seeking construction services for the removal and reconstruction, with an extension, of the boardwalk at Jungle Road Park. A site visit is highly encouraged. Lengths of the boardwalk given are approximate and should be verified by the contractor. Pictures included at the end of this section are for guidance only as conditions may have changed. A concrete pad will be installed with a Town supplied kiosk and bicycle repair station; a picture of the approximate location is included. A pre-bid meeting is mandatory and will be on August 27th at 10:00am. Assembly location for all bidders and the Towns representative(s) will be at 112 Jungle Road, Edisto Beach, SC 29438. Attendance is mandatory for all contractors wishing to place a bid. The reconstructed boardwalk shall match the style, width, and footprint of the current boardwalk. The beginning of the boardwalk shall be sloped or angled to offer a smooth transition from the grade level. The boardwalk extension shall match the style and width of the current boardwalk. The desired footprint will follow the existing foot path that follows the marsh. The extension is not desired to be elevated more than necessary to maintain a level walking surface until it is needed to gain elevation to meet the walking area of the restroom facility. Any turns or changes in direction of the reconstructed or extended boardwalk shall meet the 2017 ICC A117.1 Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities. The current boardwalk is approximately 130 feet in length and 5.5 feet in width; a reduction to 5 feet clear width is allowed in the reconstruction and additional boardwalk. Stringers appear to be 2x6 mounted to 4x4 embedded in the ground. Portions of the current boardwalk are molded around trees and contour around other obstacles, this is to be maintained. If possible, the bench should be removed and reused within the same location. The boardwalk extension is estimated to be 175 feet in total length; width should match the current boardwalk. Allowances may be needed for contouring around trees or obstacles without damaging them. This extension will follow the foot path along the marsh. Include all sitework needed to prepare the location for the boardwalk. This may include, but is not limited to, brush/limb removal and removal of any existing amenities currently in the proposed footprint. Clearing and grading may be necessary in some areas. Removal of trees is not desired. Any trees requested to be removed will be investigated on a case-by-case basis including thought to the health of the tree and public safety. Any trees removed may be mitigated per Town Ordinance section 86, Article VIII-Trees and will be the responsibility of the contractor.
