As of September 4, 2025, a design firm has been selected for the project. Bidding is estimated to take place in February of 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The construction budget is $35 million. The Alaska Court System is soliciting bids via a Request for Proposal for full design of the Palmer Courthouse to include construction documents and project support. The purpose of this project is to expand the Palmer Courthouse to provide additional courtroom space, associated judicial office space, clerk's office space, and security screening area. Alaska Court System (ACS) has already completed a preliminary design that has been approved by ACS Leadership. The project aims to add roughly 30,000 sf of space on the current property as well as upgrade the site. The site upgrades will include additional secure parking for ACS Judicial Officers and staff, creation of additional public parking where available, exterior lighting, and landscape The ACS is looking for a full design to include all applicable disciplines with several review periods at 35%, 65%, and 95%. In addition, the ACS will require assistance with preparation of construction documents for the purposes of bidding, participation in the bid process, construction administration throughout the duration of the project, participation in project meetings, and assistance with close out activities. This will be a multi-year multi-phased project. A schematic of the preliminary design shall be provided at the Pre-Bid Meeting.
