Reference Number 0000360870 Removal of catwalk from City Sanitary Sewer Pump Station and replacement of hatch doors a bid bond representing 10% of the base bid Scope of Work Introduction - The City of Gibraltar is currently soliciting bids from qualified commercial contractors to remove the catwalk at the Sanitary Sewer Pump Station and replacement of four (4) existing access hatches. The pump station is located at 29986 South Gibraltar Road. Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting - A mandatory pre-bid meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pump Station located at 29986 South Gibraltar Road to familiarize prospective bidders with the scope of work specified and the facility, and to provide an opportunity to clarify aspects of the scope of work. Request for Bids - Gibraltar Sanitary Sewer Pump Station Catwalk Removal Page 2 1. The scope of the project is the removal and replacement of the four (4) aluminum access doors, removal of the existing handrail and grating, along with the removal of the existing abandoned electrical junction boxes and cable laying on the grating/handrail in the lift station wet well. The power is disconnected to these items. 2. The Pump Basin is in continuous operation, no debris can fall into the basin. The contractor is responsible for protecting the pumps and power cords-floats and the removal of any debris that falls into the basin and any damage that might be caused. 3. The wet well/basin is a confined space. The contractor is responsible for providing the necessary safety equipment for confined space work. 4. Removal and replace the top 4 to 5 of existing concrete at the existing access doors. Prep the existing concrete. The new concrete is to be mechanically anchored to the existing concrete. The new concrete is to be 4,000 psi-air entrained concrete. 5. Provide all required formwork, reinforcing steel, wire mesh, % x 5 mechanical anchors, bonding agents, joint sealants and curing compounds to complete this work. 6. The new access doors need to be aluminum, H20 loading, lockable, with safety grating and a drain.
