The City of Independence, Missouri invites bids from firms to perform the following scope of work at the Courtney Bend Water Plant for the Water Department. The Contract for this project shall provide for, but not limited to, all equipment, materials, workmanship, and labor required for the proper removal and reinstall of North and South walls of Sludge House #4. lease submit all questions regarding this Invitation to Bid online. The scope of work to be completed by the Contractor for this project shall be categorized for the purpose of bidding as follows: Line Item No. 1) Provide for all labor, equipment, materials, and services required and as specified for complete Tear off and removal of existing siding. Line Item No. 2) Provide for all labor, equipment, materials, and services required and as specified for removal of angle located at the floor and the transition to the water basins. Line Item No. 3) Provide all labor, equipment, material, and services required and as specified for installation of walk through door on north side of structure. Line Item No. 4) Provide all labor, equipment, materials, and services required and as specified to apply insulation on the inside of the structure. Line Item No. 5) Provide price to repair structure steel beams along with prime and coating. (if necessary) 1.2. Contractor shall perform site remediation to restore all areas affected by execution of the project to its previous condition or better. 1.3. Organizations or individuals who are properly qualified and trained to perform such work shall provide the services and work to be executed by the Contractor. 1.3.1. A firm regularly employed in the installation, repair, replacement, and construction of roofing. 1.4. All measurements provided in these specifications and supporting documents provided by the City with invitation to bid shall be field verified by the bidder for the purpose of bidding if they deem it necessary. The measurements provided by the city are NOT verified. The City shall not be responsible for any calculations made by the bidder when utilizing any provided measurements or dimensions. 1.5. Any delay or extra expense caused by encountering construction or materials other than anticipated or different from those indicated herein shall not constitute grounds for claims by the Contractor for additional payments or damages. New Construction 2.1.9 All electrical enclosures must remain in service. Temporary support may be used as needed. 3. Sludge House #4 Dimensions 3.1. Sludge House Structure 20' wide x 11' high. (Field verification recommended) 4. Completion of Work 2. Pre-Bid Meeting n 4.1. Touch up and restoration of damaged finishes shall be the same as original condition as required. 4.2. All trash used materials and debris shall be removed and disposed of properly daily by the contractor in accordance with applicable regulations. Contractor is to provide trash receptacles for all of their waste generated on site and is not to use the City's trash receptacles to dispose of their trash. 2.1 New Siding, Angle Iron, and Door 2.1.1 2.1.2 2.1.3 2.1.4 2.1.5 2.1.6 2.1.7 2.1.8 2.1. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Courtney Bend Water Plant, on the morning of August 29, 2024 at 10:00 am. Attendance is highly encouraged. 2.2. This shall be the only opportunity for bidders to make pre-bid site visits in preparation of their bid for this project. All penetrations must be sealed Install corrugated galvanized siding equal to what is currently in place. Install new angle iron at floor equivalent to what is in place currently. Install Commercial strength walk through door on North side of structure. Install Commercial strength hardware with door on North side of structure. Install a new 6"x6" penetration trap door for future projects. Install new angle transitions to attach to water basins. (Both sides) Surface prep before installing new angle. Replace with angle equal to what is attached to basins. If touch up paint is required on basins it must be TNEMAC brand equal to what was used to paint the basins. 2.2 New Interior Insulation 2.2.1 Apply LAMTEC Polyurethane WMP-VR (White Film) insulation to the interior of the North and South side of structure, (or equivalent) 2.3 Existing Equipment and other Structure 2.3.1 Roofing structure stays in place. 2.3.2 2.3.3 All conduit penetrations must be sealed upon completion
