Agate Bay Storm water Restoration. Description: The Lake Soil and Water Conservation District (hereinafter, the "Funding Agency") is soliciting Bids for the Agate Bay Stormwater Restoration (hereinafter, the "Project"), which includes: Installing a splitter catch-basin in-line with existing storm sewer pipe which directs runoff into approximately 1,300 feet of two-stage ditch channel reconstruction, as well as installing two further catch basins, a debris-separating baffle box, and a sand-and-biochar filtration basin. The work also includes planting and revegetation work throughout the work area. The Project is being constructed on property owned by the City of Two Harbors and the Minnesota DNR, (hereinafter, the "Owners"). This Project is made possible by grants provided by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. The Funding Agency will be the main point of contact for contracting-related questions. The mission of the Lake Soil and Water Conservation District is to provide technical, educational, and financial resources to land occupiers in order to implement practices and projects that preserve, protect, and enhance water quality and other natural resources. These services are provided by professional staff or by the professionals under contract with the District. Site Address: Lighthouse Point Road Site Directions: South of South Avenue, Between 6th Street and Lighthouse Point Road, on The City of Two Harbors and Minnesota DNR land (23-7600-01415, 23-7600-06605, 23-7600-06607) in Two Harbors, MN. The following scope of work was completed during this Phase II ESA: Advanced eighteen hand auger borings approximately every 100 feet on alternating sides of the existing drainage ditch (north and south) to assess current soil conditions of the Site; Observed, collected and categorized soil samples from the soil borings; Field-screened soil for the presence of volatile organic compounds with a photoionization detector (PID); Collected five soil samples from the eighteen total borings for laboratory analysis of the following parameters: diesel range organics (DRO), gasoline range organics (GRO), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs); and Prepared this report.
