Renovation of a water / sewer project in West Union, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The approximate quantities of work to be bid upon include a 500 GPM Water Treatment Plant and related appurtenances. All work summarized below shall be substantially complete within 690 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run and completed and ready for final payment within 720 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run. Liquidated damages shall be $1,000 per day. All Bidders are required to have a West Virginia Contractor's License as per Section 30-42-12 of the West Virginia Code. The license classification shall be appropriate for the work for which the bid is prepared. The bidders license number shall be included in the first envelope as part of the Bid Opening Requirements. All subcontractor(s) shall furnish their contractors' license number(s) to the prime contractor prior to the award of the contract. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to the Town of West Union in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid. All questions must be submitted by email to Ryan Haws at rhaws@cecinc.com and Matt Fluharty, PE at mfluharty@cecinc.com by close of business, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2024. The Town of West Union reserves the right to reject any or all bids. A bidder may not withdraw the Bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of bids. A brief description of work includes, but is not limited to, the following scope of work: 1. Report in with the Owners Representative. 2. Record and report abnormal conditions, measurements taken, maintenance work performed, etc. 3. Review logs with the Owner for operational problems and trends. 4. General: If deficiencies are found during verifications, the contractor shall coordinate replacement, adjustments and repairs as a service covered under the comprehensive maintenance. Coordinate repairs if they are considered warranty issues. Items which require routine replacement, such as air filters, belts, etc., shall be considered as part of the services covered under the comprehensive maintenance and will be replaced at regular intervals, but will not be required to be replaced on a daily or weekly basis. Excess stock of lamps, filters, belts, etc. shall be tagged for comprehensive maintenance and stored onsite for the Owners maintenance personnel to perform replacement of items that cannot be deferred until the contractor is onsite: a. Inspect for leaks and report leak check results. b. Repair minor leaks as required (e.g. valve packing, flare nuts). c. Calculate refrigerant loss rate and report to the Owner. d. Check the sheaves and pulleys for wear and alignment. e. Check the belts for tension, wear, cracks, and/or glazing. f. Verify proper damper operation. g. Check mechanical linkages for wear, tightness, and clearances. h. Verify clean air filters, replace as necessary. i. Verify the operation of the crankcase oil heater(s), if applicable. j. Verify correct and smooth wheel drive operation.
