sealed bids will be awarded on September 17, 2024. Work shall consist of the approximate quantities: 1,700 square yards of asphalt milling, 250 tons of hot mix asphalt surface course, 740 linear feet of striping, installation of cast-in-place steel bollards, 110 linear feet of underdrain, along with other miscellaneous related construction items, as required. The plans, specifications and other contract documents for the proposed work, prepared by Leon S. Avakian, Inc., Consulting Engineers, 788 Wayside Road, Neptune, NJ may be examined at the office of the Engineer during business hours. Bids must be made on the standard proposal form in a manner designated therein and required by the specifications. They shall be enclosed in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to the Neptune Township Fire District No.1 Board of Fire Commissioners, bearing on the outside the name of the bidder, his address and the name of the contract for which the bid is submitted. Bids must be accompanied by a certificate from a surety company stating that it will provide the specified performance and maintenance bonds in the event that the contract is awarded to the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for ten percent of the amount of the bid, not to exceed $20,000, drawn upon an incorporated bank or trust company, payable to the Neptune Township Fire District No. 1, as guarantee that in case the contract is awarded the bidder, he will, within ten days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit as a partial satisfaction of liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon fulfillment of this re!quirement by the bidder. The checks of all bidders will be returned according to law. No interest shall be allowed upon any such check. The Neptune Township Fire District No. 1 Board of Fire Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids, or to waive any informality of any bid.
