REJECTION OF QUOTATIONS The City reserves the right to reject any or all Quotations, the City in its sole discretion may reject as non- compliant any Quotation which contains omissions, erasures; is ambiguous or unclear as to meaning or intent; is incomplete, illegible, conditional or contains a qualifier; contains any non-requested alterations or additions to the information provided by the City; is obviously unbalanced; or fails to comply sufficiently with the Instructions to Bidders. The City may, in its sole discretion, waive any and all defects, informalities, and accept any Quotation, as compliant, which it considers is in the best interest of the City of Brandon SCOPE OF WORK A.1 The City of Brandon Utility Maintenance Department requires pricing for the installation and certification of a Jib Crane at the City of Brandon Water Treatment Facility Maintenance Shop. Drawing and specifications are appended to this Quotation. A.2 The project will consist of: A.2.1 Concrete cutting, removal and disposal. A.2.2 Installation of new foundation for jib crane sleeve. A.2.3 Installation of jib crane and hoist; and A.2.4 Coordination of crane inspection and certification. A.3 The jib crane and sleeve have been pre-engineered by the supplier and pre-purchased by the City for installation by the contractor. All ancillary materials are the responsibility of the contractor to supply and install, including but not limited to concrete, steel and Nelson Studs to be welded in place as per the drawings. A.4 Coordination of work will be required with the City. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to install the 'Top Entry Collector'. The City's Industrial Electricians will perform the final electrical connections to the power supply, including, running conduit and cable to the jib crane and the disconnect from the electrical panel. A.5 The City will endeavor to limit work within the project area during construction; however, the Shop is a working facility with access required by staff throughout. The City will remove equipment that is within the footprint of the project, including steam lines, if required. A.6 The Burns Maendel foundation drawings supersede the engineered drawing from Corix and must be used for the purposes of this project. A.7 The jib crane must be inspected, and certification for use must be acquired from an accredited crane supplier such as Advance Crane. Documentation of certification must be supplied to the City prior to the project completion.
