The Jack & Bore pit will be on Route F-047 between the abandoned DI between I-81 and Route F-047 and the outlet end of the existing 30' culvert. Contractor shall Jack and Bore (Method A) 300lf +/- of smooth wall steel casing pipe with a minimum wall thickness of 0.5" and a minimum diameter of 30" Where culverts connect to the DI's and EW's, the Contractor shall follow Section 218 - Hydraulic Cement Mortar and Grout at these connecting areas. Contractor shall connect existing DI to the new DI-7 at the inlet end with 10 feet of 30" smooth wall casing pipe. At the outlet end of the pipe, geotextile (Section 245.03(b) of the VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications - Riprap Bedding Geotextile), class A-1 riprap, and an EW-1 shall be placed on the slope. The Contractor shall place rip rap to direct the water to the existing drainage channel. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The Contractor shall begin work within fourteen (14) calendar days after contract award, unless otherwise agreed upon by the VDOT Contract Administrator, with project completion within 45 days of the start of work. The Contractor shall provide a continuous operation once they commence work. The Contractor shall advise the VDOT Contract Administrator at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of work. The Contractor shall not begin work until the location and extent of work has been verified and approved by the Contract Administrator..
