Site work and paving for a road / highway in Clinton, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project involves the Rehabilitation of the following streets: *North 10th Street, 2nd Avenue South to 6th Avenue North, Asphalt overlay*South 25th Street, Highway 30 to Virginia Avenue, Asphalt Overlay *10th Avenue North, North 11th Street to west end of 1100 Block, Full Depth Reconstruction *1st Avenue, North 11th Street to Lawrence Street, Full Depth Reconstruction *12th Avenue South, Windsor Drive to South 22nd Street, Asphalt Resurfacing *Windsor Drive, Harts Mill Road to 12th Avenue South, Asphalt Resurfacing *South 23rd Street, 12th Avenue South to Cameron Drive, Asphalt Resurfacing The above work shall be commenced as soon as possible after the contract and bond have been approved by the City Attorney and have been signed by the Mayor and City Clerk. The notice to proceed for this project shall be issued on or before April 1st , 2025. The late start date shall be May 1st, 2025. There will be Sixty (60) working days for this project. The final completion date, which includes all seeding and punch-list items, shall thirty (30) days after the verified substantial completion date. Liquidated damages shall be per Special Conditions. Doc note - Complete project bidding documents are available at the City of Clinton Engineering Department at City Hall, with a deposit of Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) per set. This deposit shall be refunded upon return of the contract documents within fourteen (14) calendar days after award of the project. If the contract documents are not returned in a timely manner and in a reusable condition, the deposit shall be forfeited. Each Bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful Bidder will enter into a Contract for the work bid upon and will furnish after the award of Contract a corporate Surety Bond, in a form acceptable to the City of Clinton, for the faithful performance of the Contract, in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract. A bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount as security that the bidder whose proposal is accepted will enter into a contract for the above, and will provide the required bonds, with sureties to be approved by the City Council, which respective sum will be retained by the said City as agreed liquidated damages in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within ten (10) calendar days after award of the contract and post bond satisfactory to the City insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance. The City of Clinton reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of bids and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Each successful Bidder will be required to furnish a corporate Surety Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of its Contract price. Said Bond shall be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City of Clinton and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all material and labor, and protect and save harmless the City of Clinton from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contract and shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvement caused by failures in materials and construction for a period of two (2) years from and after acceptance of the Contract. The City of Clinton does hereby reserve the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be in the best interest of the City.
