The City of West Allis is seeking proposals from qualified contractors for water main & storm sewer relays for 2024 - S. 97th St. from W. Grant St. to W. Becher St. New bidders must pre-qualify for bidding by submitting proof of responsibility to the West Allis City Engineer. No bid shall be received unless accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond equal to at least 5 percent of the bid payable to the City of West Allis as a guaranty that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 10 days after the award of the contract. If the successful bidder so files the contract and bond, upon the execution of the contract by the city the check shall be returned. In case the successful bidder fails to file such contract and bond the amount of the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the city as liquidated damages. The West Allis Board of Public Works reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive any informalities in bidding. All questions about the meaning or intent of the contract documents are to be directed to the City Engineer. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by the Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by addenda mailed or deliveredtoallparties recordedby theEngineer ashaving received proposal forms. Questions received less than ten (10) days priorto the date foropeningofbids may not be answered.
