Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Oakville, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 15,211-square-foot, two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
This Request for Tender (RFT) is to retain a Contractor to construct a new Fire Station 9, a two storey building at 4075 Sixth Line, Oakville, Ontario (currently a greenfield parcel of land at the northeast corner of Sixth Line and Loyalist Trail). The Fire Station is a two-storey facility housing active fire personnel as well as fire prevention and education divisions. The facility is designed to achieve a minimum LEED Silver certification and is intended to be net zero ready with enhanced sustainability features. Fire Station #9 is approximately 14,770 sq ft and is proposed to be located at the intersection of Loyalist Trail and Sixth Line. The site is 0.55 hectares and includes 46 parking spaces, including 2 barrier-free spots. 4 double-stall Level 2 EV chargers are designated for the fleet of Fire Prevention staff vehicles. Also located on the site is an outdoor crew patio area, a waste collection enclosure, and an exterior pad mounted generator.
