Design and construct a new Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) to be located on the west side of the Airport. The ATCT is over sixty years old and has long since reached its useful life. The Airport will move forward with the Tower Siting Study, Environmental Assessment, and the ATCT design effort in order to take advantage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and the available funding to reimburse the Airport for funds spent in advance. The City and the FAA will enter into a lease agreement for the ATCT once completed. A State grant was received in 2023 to complete the siting study for the new ATC tower. (Project II-12 of the Airport Layout Plan) As of March 23, 2026, this project is included in the city's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Design work has been completed and construction is expected to begin this year, but a bid has not been advertised yet. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
