The Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC), Southcentral Region, requires targeted foliar herbicide application services on approximately 185 acres of State Game Lands in Bedford County as per Attachment 1 - 'Herbicide Specifications'. This work is requested to aide in the maintenance and improvement of forested and shrubland habitats by eliminating competing vegetation consisting primarily of woody tree and shrub species. Services shall include, but not be limited to, the furnishing of all labor, superintendence, tools, materials, and equipment for the herbicide treatment as per attached Herbicide Specifications for each line item. All Purchase Orders require the contractor to provide the herbicide, equipment, labor, insurance, and all miscellaneous expenses to complete the operation. This project is being bid as three (3) line items Line item 1: Fall foliar herbicide applications (47 acres) - SGL 48 Line item 2: Spring foliar herbicide applications (50 acres) - SGL 48 and SGL 104 Line item 3: Spring foliar herbicide applications (88 acres) - SGL 49 Line items bid out separately Project areas are located on the following SGLs, listed by road, township, and county: SGL 48 Milligans Cove - Line items 1 and 2: Field, shrubland, and forest complex located off Cove Road (T 358), Harrison Township, Bedford County. Coordinates at gate 2 parking area: 39.8926, -78.2837 SGL 104 Tiger Valley - Line Item 2 : Field, shrubland, and forest complex located off Tiger Valley Road (T 351), Londonderry Township Bedford County. The contractor will provide Workmen's Compensation insurance sufficient to cover all of the employees of the contractor working to fulfill this contract. B. Comprehensive General Liability Insurance, including bodily injury and property damage insurance, to protect the Commonwealth and the contractor from claims arising out of the performance of the contract. The amount of Bodily Injury Insurance shall not be less than $300,000.00 for injury to or death of persons per occurrence. The amount of Property Damage Insurance shall not be less than $300,000.00 per occurrence. The contract term per each line item shall commence no earlier than the start dates listed below and upon the contractor's receipt of the Purchase Order as well as the receipt of insurance documents and performance bond by the Pennsylvania Game Commission. All herbicide applications per line item must be completed by the respective end dates. Contracts will not be extended. Line Item Start Date End Date #1 October 28, 2024 November 22, 2024 #2, #3 May 27, 2025 June 30, 2025 DAMAGE TO COMMONWEALTH PROPERTY The contractor shall be responsible for any damage to Commonwealth property resulting from the completion of this contract. The contractor shall immediately repair, in a manner that meets with the approval of the PGC representative, any damage to roads and other facilities resulting from the contractor's activities, beyond what is deemed acceptable by PGC personnel. Commission personnel will inspect spray equipment to determine if it meets the Specifications. The Commission reserves the right to reject any and all equipment if it fails to meet contract specifications.
